As I sit at my desk and wonder what to eat or what not to eat for lunch, I think about all the “Diet” commercials I hear during my day. Are Diets a miracle or a myth ? Every diet pill I have researched has the added details of: “Must be taken with a balanced diet and exercise program”. Well DAH ! but what do the diet pills really offer ? Are they a placebo or an actual pill that suppresses ones appetite. Does one’s mind over matter effect do the job the “Diet Pill” is supposed to do ?
I think I have tried every diet pill there is out there. My night stand at home is full of pills I have ordered over the Internet that promise great results. I follow the directions and see results for about a month, then nothing… Why is that ? Does my body get used to whatever it is in the pill ? I have asked my doctor and he says that our bodies will do what they want to do, but we have to make them do what we want… I was confused for a minute, then I thought, I can make a difference in my appearance by getting beriatric surgery.. I can get a tummy tuck and take it all way..
In reality, I do not have the money to spend on such surgeries. So what am I or you to do about this battle of the bulge ? I have an exercise bike at home as well as an elliptical machine, I have used them but not consistently. I think that is the answer… CONSISTENCY By Jove I think I’ve got it…. Be consistent..
Eat a maximum of 500 calories a meal, drink plenty of water and exercise at least three times a week for 30 to 40 minutes. OK, who with a fulltime job , having had 4 kids and run a household can pull that off ? I have gotten the 500 Calorie a meal down, the water I’m working on and the exercise well that is not coming along as I have hoped. My husband is not a motivator, he just wants me happy and if I’m tired, he tells me to rest myself. He is a wonderful caregiver, but a horrible motivator to work out.
He fears that if I get thin again, I may leave him. Not my insecurity it is his.. He is overweight and I have tried to motivate him to lose weight. I have tried to say that we would have more sex if he was lighter.. That worked before we got married and lasted until I got pregnant. That was that… Now I guess it is up to me and me alone to fight this battle and to win it alone.. Like the saying goes “YOU CAN DO IT” (with a Spanish accent)
So let’s see how many of us can do it.. Are you with me ? Fight this battle with me and get yourself to where you have always wanted you to be… Here we go… Keep me informed of your progress and maybe we can motivate each other. GOOD LUCK !
